Falcon Park Computer Services (FPCS) emerged partly by accident but mainly as a result of demand for the services provided by Nick Mason. He had always been enthusiastic about personal computers, from the early Macs onwards - do you remember the LISA? And the 286? From building new and better computers for himself and his family, and assisting friends, it was natural that this would extend to include support services for Falcon Sporthorses, including bookkeeping (Quicken then MYOB), electronic BAS, internet banking, digital imaging/video, and a web site. Pip’s mother, Deirdre, provided the secretarial and photographic support to Pip and her husband, John Cooper, including correspondence, brochures and publication of The Eventers Handbook in 1994, 1996, 1998 and 2000. FPCS has developed into a boutique computer service, with the emphasis on configuring equipment and software to suit individual needs for home and SOHO installations. This ranges from high-end gaming machines to ensuring that the new user is not carried away by sales hype and ends up wasting money on a ‘Ferrari to do the local shopping’. Nick Mason has been active in helping the local community in the Mangrove Mountain area to further an interest in computers and the ways they can be of practical assistance to individuals and small businesses. As part of this, he was involved from the very start in the proposal to establish a Community Technology Centre at Mangrove Mountain and chaired the CTC Steering Committee for the critical period prior to the successful application being lodged. He was subsequently Chairman of a Steering Committee to establish Mangrove Mountain Computer Club. He was active in the succesful campaign to have Exchanges in the 'Mountain area' ADSL Broadband enabled, working in liaison with Paul Budde. If you think we may be able to assist you in any way, please give us a call or send us an email. Best viewed at 800 x 600 or higher Last updated 18 August 2010 ©
